We Bought the Farm!

Update: We bought the farm! an 1840s farmhouse with 2 story barn to be renovated into our studio.  The barn renovation will take awhile so in the meantime I'm setting up shop in the big front parlor of the farmhouse.

Could not be any happier this morning to be sipping coffee and setting up the new office.  The view from my desk is spectacular and this spacious front parlor is such an improvement over my previous claustrophobic back bedroom office I feel like I can breath and stretch my legs here.  Doesn't hurt that its SPRING, the days are long, the trees are green and I'm listing to Alison Krauss + Union Station

Known by my friends as the Queen of craigslist can you believe I scored this HUGE pottery barn sectional and broke it into 2 sofas to solve my problem in the den .... how do you accommodate 2 focal points (a TV and fire place) when you can't hang the tv above the fire place.. 2 sofas for the price of one and still the reigning craigslist champion LOL. Please note the freshly picked lily of the valley on the pallet coffee table.  There is a 1 mile+ hiking trail in our back yard and the lily of the valley are going bananas right now.

And let the foraging begin!! Here are the last best lilacs of 2016 for dear friend Bridgit who had a big shower to help flower up this weekend.  Its so fun to find that a drive in the country begins at the bottom of own driveway and just about anything you can think to forage is available in droves here or there I'm looking forward to lots viburnum, sweet peas, and already enjoying all the lily of the valley

Had the pleasure of designing a Mandap (traditional Hindu wedding arbor) for my client Preeta at the Matthaei Botanical Gardens this weekend the couple were so kind and the fabric was sewn by Preeta's mom Jay didn't she do a beautiful job!!
