Sarah and Stephan at Zingerman's Events on Fourth, White Wedding Flowers
As you will see below I am OBSESSED with the floral wreath made this weekend for Sarah and Stephan's classy white wedding at Zingerman's Events on fourth. Sarah has the prettiest taste very clean and bright all roses, ranunculus and hydrangea designed in 10" long 4" wide clear glass rectangular vases with faux aspidistra leaves to hide the stems.
I used Alicia Schwede's white rose study from her epic florist blog Flirty Fleurs I mixed Tibet, Eskimo and White Dove roses. the Tibet were by far my favorite for size, color and petal count.
Love the all brick with simple beautiful light garland at Zingerman's on Fourth in Kerrytown. This little venue accommodates 60-80 and is perfect for small weddings or rehearsal dinners, showers etc. The events coordinator for Zingermans, Patti Wheeler, is completely delightful, all my clients rave about how great the service is and how wonderful Patti is to work with.
Sarah's bouquet was a small elegant white rose and ranunculus bouquet that really complemented her gorgeous gown from The Gown Shop in Ann Arbor.
LOVE This photo (above) a preview from the talented Heather Jowett Photography
And no wreath obsession would be complete without two more photos these two on the front door of my house before we went on delivery.... okay and and two more from inside the house
what can I say :) My wise and talented florist friend Janet of Floral Verde (see her insanely gorgeous work here) Once told me that you only need to post one great view of each design not 20 photos from 20 different angles and I try to keep that in mind but this wreath pushed me over the edge.

Detroit Institute of Art (DIA) Fall Floral Design Happy Feast of St. Therese!
Designed at the Detroit Institute of Arts today for me it was a way to honor this special Feast Day Oct 1st the Feast of St. Therese THE LITTLE FLOWER!! My patron and friend.
St Therese promised to spend heaven doing good on earth and let fall from heaven a shower of roses. I once prayed to her for help with my job and that very day woman told me she was leaving her job in the flower shop if I knew anyone that was looking for a job... I got that job, became the manager and you know the rest!!
Thanks St. Therese I am eternally grateful which is why I named my second business The Little Flower Soap Co in her honor.
The arrangement is a fall intense gem tones ombre design that is supposed to flow from rust orange through deep red and to burgundy. the photo really doesn't do it justice because the lighting in the museum washes things out at this particular spot but you get the idea anyway :) ~Holly

Brand New product Dill Pickle Lip Balm and bonus: Garlic Dill Dip Recipe :)
Our Newest addition to the Little Flower Lip balm line DILL PICKLE Chapstick!! You can see and buy it here Little Flower Soap Co on ETSY So during the process of photographing the dill lip balm for the website a friend recommended fresh dill in the photo (brilliant!!) And it happens to be Fall/Harvest so I went straight to Eastern Market (The Detroit Farmers Market) and picked up some HUGE Dill 3.5 feel tall! it was so fun to walk around with a giant beautiful bunch of dill!!
Bonus after I had taken all the photos I needed I had to think of ways to use ALL that dill before it wilts... and I had picked up some michigan grown cucumbers (you should smell this!!) So I whipped up a little Garlic Dill veggie dip using plain yogurt for the base and adding a bit of salt so so YUM. I'm loving these tiny indigo bowls I picked up at World Market and plates from The PTO Thrift Shop A2

Barton Hills Country Club wedding reception Congratulations Anne and Tom!
Designed these tall abundant pink and coral on silver pillar holder centerpieces for Anne and Tom's wedding at Barton Hills Country Club in Ann Arbor. The design includes juliet peach garden roses, and some awesome ballet pink astilbe for texture.
Half of the tables featured this low mounded design in a mercury glass compote. Still juliet peach garden roses and coral roses but accented with jumbo pink hydrangea, orange ranunculus, blushing bride protea, astilbe and andromeda (or pieres) I love this monochromatic look
Justin and I were so thrilled to attend the entire wedding and I have to say that the catering at Barton Hills Country club is top notch! timing, service and taste everything was completely perfect. Plus I adore the event coordinator Jennifer she is so delightful to work with!

HOW STINKIN' CUTE IS THIS!?!
Meet Evey and Sirius the clearly much loved duo co starred in Kelly and Nick's Zingerman's on Fourth wedding this Friday. I loved designing all of the flowers for the event but creating the fresh floral dog collar and dog boutonniere were by far my favorite this weekend!!
Made of ruscus, pink spray roses, orange ranunculus, and wax flower
Here is the maid of honor with Evey the doggy maid of honor love that courtyard at Kerrytown the brick gives such a rustic industrial look.
Kelly's bouquet was composed of cafe au lait dahlia, juliet garden roses, pink ranunculus, peach ranunculus, coral ranunculus, orange ranunculus, white anemone and blush peonies
The front half of the birch Chupah made its second appearance as the structure for this ribbon backdrop which was a perfect match to Kelly and Nick's invitations
We used hanging glass globe bud vases for added ambiance inside Zingerman's

Jade and Coral Garden Party Cake Plate DIY Design with air plants and peony
It is always so fantastic to hear that a bride our couple were thrilled with their wedding flowers but no complement feels more sincere then when they come back for more... Which is what Danielle Behr did this summer when it came time to plan her father's 50th Birthday garden party... The party was Coral and Jade themed but of course this was a birthday budget not a bridal budget so I had the inspiration to make a faux jade glass cake plate DIY
The overall look of the 6 centerpieces was wildly textured including succulents jade, air plants (tillandsia) jumbo green hydrangea, scented geranium leaf curly willow gypsy dianthus and featuring coral peonies and coral roses. Here it is pictured on the rustic reclaimed wood pallet coffee table that my dad made :)

Introducing the Birch Chuppah .... Congrats Carly and Nick Ann Arbor UMMA wedding
Its first appearance was this weekend at UMMA (The University of Michigan Museum of Art) for Carly and Nick's wedding. Pictured above right and on the left is a colorful escort card table design composed of garden roses, deep purple hydrangea, mini green hydrangea and stock flowers.
The aisle was lined with terrace hangers filled with bright orange protea, ranunculus, rose and stock flowers accented with scented geranium foliage.
The museum is such a stunning venue the art and flowers go so well together
Carly and Nick requested half low and half tall centerpieces the tall centerpieces were designed in a 24" clear glass cylinder filled with blooming cherry branches and topped with abundant mounds of hot pink peony, garden roses, bright orange pin cushion protea, orange parrot tulips, ranunculus, and deep purple stock flowers... the low centerpieces included succulents and were designed in compotes
I love UMMA for photography because besides all of the art in the background you can shoot from the mezzanine and get some really great aerial shots... Also so in love with how the gold chivari chairs complement the ornate gold frames on all of the paintings. Must recommend to future UMMA clients
After the ceremony we flipped the room for the reception at which time the gorgeous cake by Zingerman's Bakehouse was placed below the chuppah.
The Museum is logistically difficult to deliver to because the art has to be climate controlled etc.. but all the work was worth it a very worthy venue for our the birch chuppah (my baby :)
