Yesterday Calynn of Calynn Berry Photography gifted me a disk with these photos of our flowers Yay! Nikki's Bouquet included White anemone, purple lisianthus, purple dendrobium orchids, purple ranunculus, purple ball dahlia, seeded eucalyptus and smoke bush. Johns boutonniere was an orchid, a ranunculus and seeded eucalyptus wrapped with black grosgrain ribbon. Ta Da!

The wedding and reception were both at the Ann Arbor Polo Fields, just look how much natural sunlight pours in those windows!

Elizabeth looked so beautiful with perfect hair adorned with a single dendro orchid. Her bouquet included viburnum berry, white freesia, green trick dianthus, purple hydrangea, and ranunculus.

Misty Farms Herb Bouquet . Congrats Audrey and Paul!

It was such a delight to put Audrey's herb bouquet together featuring white Anemone with black centers, Mint, lavender, nigella, ranunculus, stock, and privet berries in a base of antique green hydrangea. The mint and lavender and stock made this design smell so sweet, yum.

after wrapping the stems we created lush ribbon loops in several widths for added elegance. If I could go back in time to my own wedding I would totally carry this!

Hops Boutonnieres Y'all!! So super fun to make and double fun because it was a great excuse to visit my favorite pub The Corner Brewery in Ypsi the home of my heart (Ypsi not the pub)

For Brittany and Rick's Weller's Carriage House wedding in Saline Michigan :
A silver Grecian urn vase filled with coral, yellow, pink, and ivory flowers
and a 24" tall 8" diameter glass cylinder vase with yellow chrysanthemum pomander hanging from crystal strands and topped with a similar mix of ranunculus, garden roses, zinnia, craspedia, seeded eucalyptus and anemone.

I love the rustic feel of the wood walls inside the carriage house at Weller's and they were a perfect fit with the moss table runners and river rocks.

I loved the playfulness of the yellow pomander and the chrysanthemums smelled amazing

Brittany's bouquet was a summery elegant coral design featuring coral zinnia and ranunculus with yellow craspedia, pink anemone and hydrangea, and ivory garden roses. I took a separate photo of just the coral ranunculus before designing the bouquet because they were so juicy :)

The couple were married under a 10 ft. garland composed of yellow roses. Two 36" tall black urns were filled with white hydrangea at the back of the aisle. Just love the long walk under the fall leaves between the carriage house and the pergola.

Cocktail tables featured these sweet little moss cylinders filled with yellow ranunculus, and craspedia. So honored to be part of Brittany and Rick's big day!! ~Sweet Pea

One of the fabulous event specialists that make up Ann Arbor Event Studio. I can not wait for the professional photos of this wedding, Courtney and her team of planners made every detail of Trisha and Kevin's wedding unique and beautiful!!

The centerpieces included succulent roses (echeveria) dahlia, lisianthus, seeded eucalyptus, dendrobium orchids, trachillium, and stock in a silver grecian urn vase.

It was such an honor to design for a friend and former co-worker Elizabeth. Elizabeth and I opened the flower shop at Plum Market in Ann Arbor together in 2008 and now 3 years later we are both married to the boys we were dating at the time :)

Bouquet included purple hydrangea, orchids, and ranunculus, green trick dianthus, white freesia and blue privet berries.

Our stylish bride Elyse Carried this unique feminine bouquet at the Matthaei Botanical Gardens Saturday. After delivering Justin and I took some time out to relax in the atrium and wander the grounds. Everything is in bloom and I'm kicking myself for not getting photos to share here but if you can make a trip out there this fall DO IT!! The outdoor gardens are free of charge including the most amazing (and biggest) children's garden that has 10 or so activities available all the time.

Bouquet is composed of the officially in season DAHLIA! Just look at it and drool surrounded by white scabiosa, craspedia (or billy balls) scabiosa pods, yellow and pink ranunculus, the infamous dusty miller foliage and seeds from seeded eucalyptus.

And this is a sneak peek at our new living room with blue tufted sofa a $250 craigslist find and the above homemade pallet coffee table with industrial casters that could support the weight of an elephant! Under that drum roll..........Shag Carpet from Ikea Yippee!

Special thanks to Daddy for building the coffee table it will be my favorite family heirloom and the grand kids can fight over it when I'm gone (or just bury me under it). xo

Kiran and Kris's Waldenwoods Wedding Hartland, MI

Kiran and Kris were married last Saturday at my new favorite venue of all time Waldenwoods Resort and conference center, in Hartland, MI I just love how the banquet hall is rustic with wood siding and huge french windows that look out over a lake. There is a cobblestone fireplace at the each end and the faint smell of cedar smoke that is so comforting and brings back memories of every cabin and lodge I've ever vacationed in.

Two types of centerpieces low mounded textured apple centerpieces that featured green zinnia, white garden roses (variety alabaster) mini green hydrangea, green ranunculus, white ranunculus, and white ball dahlia in a white designer dish "lotus by syndicate sales"

The tall centerpieces stared bells of Ireland and curly willow branches with 5 hanging tea lights dangling in every direction. All of the above photos are by yours truely and very amature but I had the great pleasure of working with Melissa Squires of A Girl in Love Photography on this event and I am looking so forward to posting some of her photos next month, Melissa is wildly talented.

Sarah and Mike Botanical Gardens/Weber's Wedding

Did you know there is a full sized bronze elk in the lobby at Weber's Inn? Me either. But it was love at first site :) Congratulations Sarah and Mike, married last Saturday at Mattaei Botanical Gardens. The brides bouquet featured some unbelievable blue hydrangea, white garden roses, white ball dahlia, white freesia (smelled so peppery and delicious) and blue delphinium (hybrid to be awesome).

Erin and Steven's Polo Fields Ann Arbor Wedding

Congratulations Erin and Steven married today at Polo Fields of Ann Arbor

Erin's Ivory bouquet was mounded but textured and featured nerine lilies, siberia lilies, button dahlia, garden roses, freesia, alchemilla, and silver brunea.

Not pictured is the adorable vintage pansy broach that we snagged off of Etsy and pinned to the handle of the bouquet. Erin's grandmother loved pansies so although they are not in season we wanted to find a way to include them in her honor.

The Centerpieces featured floating Gardenia which smelled amazing my whole delivery van smells amazing hours later. My favorite thing about this move is the smell/memory connection. For the rest of their lives whenever they smell a real gardenia images of their wedding will come flooding back!

Although this photo came out fuzzy I just had to share these flower girl wands made from 3 stems nerine lilies and yards of ribbon for twirling. I reinforced the handle with a dowel so that they can take a good licking which I'm sure they will :)

Earhart Manor Ann Arbor Wedding: Secret Garden

For the reception centerpieces were designed in silver Grecian urn vases featuring white hydrangea, Garden Roses, yellow ranunculus, calendula and dahlia with sprigs of fern and ivy for that secret garden look. Each napkin had a canary yellow ranunculus tucked into the pocket

The bride (Hayley) had a bouquet featuring yellow freesia, white nerine lilies, seeded eucalyptus, yellow ranunculus, ivory roses, scented geranium leaf and dahlia. We used lace from her mother's wedding gown on the handle of her bouquet.

Boutonnieres featured lisianthus, and freesia the grooms boutonniere had a heart shaped silver dollar eucalyptus leaf. Stem wrapped in gray grosgrain ribbon to blend with suits.

A rose petal aisle with a fancy swirl pattern was roped off and ready for the big walk!

The place card table featured a pilsner vase full of mounded soft white and yellow blooms hydrangea, roses, and ranunculus, Cocktail tables featured a mercury glass vase of mini green hydrangea and yellow ranunculus

At the back of the aisle on either side stood a 30" tall Grecian urn filled with the flowers of the day, ivy roses, hydrangea, dahlia. The card box bird cage included a floral accent as well!

Northville Mill Race Village Wedding

Lovely Mill Race Village wedding in Northville last weekend. I didn't get many photos but couldn't resist this one of the church steps. Arrangement features mini green hydrangea, fuji mums, ivory roses, fern tips, and ruscus. The church is air conditioned in spite of being historical and makes a great venue!! The gazebo below is across the road from the little chapel...very pretty :)

Remembering Sarah's Botanical Garden's Vintage Linen Wedding

I loved this wedding so. The little boys in bow ties and seersucker suits the vintage linen table runners made by Sarah's grandmother. The bouquet was designed to match the vintage linens in whites and pastels with pops of red. University of Michigan Matthaei Botanical Gardens in July with everything in full bloom. What an ideal way to get hitched!

If I remember correctly catering was done by the amazing team at Zingerman's Catering of Ann Arbor (best in the biz!)

fern backed ranunculus boutonnieres were accented with a sprig of seeded eucalyptus, so woodsy!

So happy to create these pink and ivory peony bouquets for Emily and her darling bridesmaids. Also in these bouquets: ivory ranunculus, dusty miller foliage, green and white parrot tulips, pink sweet peas blossoms, and white sweet pea blossoms.

The head table was in the center of the Michigan League Ball room and featured 3 of these 40+ inches tall branch arrangements with flowers at the base including purple roses, pink tulips, pruple sweet peas, dusty miller foliage, and the branches are blooming cherry.

Each centerpiece featured coral peony with bright yellow centers, and KALE!! along with the other flowers form the day, all neatly mounded atop a crystal cake plate for height and elegance. Designed these black and white towering calla arrangements for Kristy and Owen's UMMA (University of Michigan Museum of Art) Reception last Saturday. It was so fun to set up surrounded by great works of art and sexy statues :) I was delighted to meet some of the wonderful staff from Forte Belanger (catering co.) Their enormous team of organized wait staff, chefs, and coordinators were seriously on task! Congratulations Kristy and Owen it was an honor :)

It was such a joy to deliver flowers to Misty Farms for Laura and Matt's wedding this Saturday. My husband and I were married here almost one year ago and I get all sappy every time I design for another couple at Misty Farms. Boutonniere featured craspedia, scabiosa pods, mini green leucadendron and sword fern backing

Corsages were composed of white ranunculus as was a small comb for Jessi's hair

Jessi was simply stunning in her flowy Grecian gown her bouquet featured peony, dahlia, ranunculus, scabiosa pods, craspedia, geranium leaf and babies breath.

The aisle was lined with mason jars on shepherds hooks filled with David Austin Patience roses, craspedia, ranunculus, and geranium leaf. So bright and cheery!

This arrangement was designed in a vintage milk glass vase from Treasure Mart and filled with white peony, dahlia, David Austin roses, yellow ranunculus, craspedia, scabiosa pods adn geranium leaf. It was designed for the Katherine's Catering buffet table.

I admit this is one of my favorite weddings of all time, the bright cheery colors were so happy to work with and the whimsical elegant outdoorsy style of the day is right up my alley. So glad I got to be a part of this Ann Arbor wedding!~Pea

Congratulations Sejica and Phil Choy

Sejica and Phil were married at the Michigan League Vandenburg room. This low longer arrangement was designed for the mantle piece to be re-used on the sweetheart table. Their reception was in the ballroom and featured the these coral peonies with red ranunculus and local viburnum in blue mason jars. Sejica and Phil tinted the mason jars themselves instead of trying to find matching vintage ones, very crafty:) Loved this color pallet soft pink antique hydrangea, david austin patience roses smells great (achoo sadly I'm allergic to peony and was wheezing away all weekend) it was worth it.~pea

Courtenay and Craig's UMMA Wedding

Somehow these lovely photos slipped through my fingers last November when Courtenay and Craig were married at the University of Michigan Museum of Art. My favorite bit of these bouquets is the maidenhair fern so wispy and wonderful. And of course the white anemone which appear to be staring back at you :) I loved designing the pomander chair/aisle decor composed of mini green hydrangea, blue hybrid delphinium, dark purple dendrobium orchids and buplerum foliage.

I really liked Kate Middleton's bouquet which was simple small and understated including Myrtle planted from Queen Victoria's bouquet in 1840 and still going strong. The bouquet also had hyacinth, lily of the valley and sweet william (how appropriate and cutsie).

Designed by Shane Connolly the official florist to HRM and a man. What is up with the Paul Mitchells and Shane Connollys snatching all the lime light in lady dominated industries? (sorry for the mini rant)

Lovely bouquet all the same, she placed it on the grave of a WWI soldier rather than tossing it, classy lady.

The Inn at St. Johns Wild Spring Wedding

Designed for one of the most creative weddings ever!! This couple got married at the Butterfly house in the Detroit Zoo, their guests took a train tour of the zoo before returning to the Inn at St. Johns for their reception. Wish I had snapped a shot of the cute cupcake table the overall look of the room was retro woodsy very anthropology as one of the caterers pointed out. The centerpieces were half vintage bottles, and half foam arrangements. Flowers include, mini green hydrangea, trachillium, sweet pea, craspedia, lisianthus, veronica, and featuring white anemone.

Very pumped for this weekend's wedding at the botanical gardens and reception at Webbers Inn. Here is a sneek peak and the stunning flowers that came in today from Mayesh our wholesaler in Romulus. They sent the best looking sweet peas I have ever seen and loads of double tulips. The seeded eucalyptus i received is practically all seeds (my favorite) and the purple lisianthus must be some awesome hybrid because it has loads of petals!! Let the designing begin :) ~Pea

I love sharing a consult office with Nicole Ladonne Blair (Local Ann Arbor Photographer) and Courtney McDonald (Owner of Petals Planning Co). Both ladies are delightful company and talented wedding industry veterans. Our loft office at 116 Washington is seeing more and more sunlight pour through as spring approaches. The loft space is right above Arbor Brewing Co. (a constant temptation) and right across the street from a parking structure (so convenient). This week we added some coffee flair to the scene and a vintage dresser ala treasure mart.

These wintry wonderblooms are headed out the door as a get well soon from The University of Michigan Museum of Art staff who are a tight knit and very loving bunch. The center of the anemone look like a teddy bears nose and make me want to give them Eskimo kisses. The dusty miller are snugly too like micro suede :) The green is Dianthus and the Plum are Allium (related to the onion but not smelly like the onion). Have a great weekend all! ~Sweet Pea

Bridal Expo This Weekend and Happy Valentines Day!

I am so excited to be attending the Bridal Expo this weekend in Novi! I am not an exhibitor but my fave photographer and friend Adam Czap is and I will be assisting. Per request I designed this very big very pink fluffy thing that makes you want to take a running leap and land right in the middle. I was very worried that my supplier would be out of pink so I went at 6am this morning and found mounds of hydrangea with my name on them.

The button boutonnieres were so fun to make I just love being crafty and finding ways to reuse all these odds and ends from sewing days gone by. I stopped into FOUND the vintage finds shop in Kerrytown to scoop up some extra buttons for the project. Mary the owner of that shop is so helpful I always "find" more than I should there and she gives me a great deal for being such a spendy customer. Thanks Mary!

Recap the Amazing Botanical Gardens Wedding

Sweet Pea designed the bouquets and boutonnieres for this amazing DIY botanical gardens wedding. I am blogging about it for a second time because the pro photos appeared and they are so good. I just love the way the chartreuse maids dresses were a perfect match to the bulplerum in the bouquet and the mini green leucadendron in the boutonnieres. Ann Arbor's Botanical Gardens is luscious I am looking forward to visiting this winter when I get a case of the grays and blues.

Thank's to Meg's relaxed vision I was free to go snag all of the most perky and charismatic flowers from the market. I had the rare opportunity to create an everlasting arrangement for the Delta Delta Delta house on campus at U of M. Their place is gorgeous!! I am looking forward to designing for their founders day celebration in November as well. Parking is a little nutty here otherwise what an amazing place to live while away at school!! All of the girls are super sweet and fun to work with, I am so glad to know them.

An Arbor of Flowers for Allison and Chet's Fall Wedding

I just adore the color choices that Allison made for her fall wedding. My favorite of all the designs we prepared for their big day was this arbor. It was pretty chilly while we were arranging it and honestly my hands were numb when I finished but it was worth it!! Arbor decor includes trachillium, dahlia, smokebush, roses and ruscus. ~Congrats Allison and Chet best wishes for an awesome life toghether!!

What an Event! Seriously one of my favorite bridal bouquets of all time (so much color!!) It was a blast to design for this wedding at Sharon Mills. The Mills is a gorgeous place for a wedding it was build in 1835 and restored by Henry Ford in the 1930s!! This was such a fun wedding to design for, the colors are my favorites!! Gem tones ooo la la! I really loved going crazy on the cake with orchids, dahlia and fern curls (especially fern curls) The centerpieces really popped and the textures was playful with fuzzy cockscomb (red) seeded eucalyptus (seeds only thanks) and more uhule fern curls. Each Table featured 3 designs, 2 field flower arrangements in teal/blue mason jars on either side and 1 centerpiece composed of various vintage apothecary bottles. I rent these items out so if you like them contact me for pricing. I cut the table numbers from a vintage book of poetry and stories.

My favorite photos of this wedding below Sarah studying her vows just before the ceremony begins while all her guests are enjoying the gardens, and her too sons dressed in seersucker suits on is holding the maid of honor bouquet for her while she takes care of last minute details. Can't you just feel their excitement?

This was such a fabulous wedding to be a part of!! The very beautiful and creative bride Sarah choose a vintage linen motif, the table runners were sewn with love by her grandmother. All weddings at the botanical gardens are instantly lush, colorful and elegant but Sweet Pea is so glad to add to the days decor!

Justin and i went camping at Green Lake over the weekend. The campsite was amazing with a view of the lake. There was so much pretty stuff in bloom I couldn't help but make an arrangement for our picnic table.

I love camping in Chelsea if it is a bad weather day you can just go into town (1 mile) and play games at zou zou's cafe or catch a play at the Purple Rose Theatre

I am a huge fan of The Tree of Life Studio in Chelsea, Drum, Dance, Massage, Yoga, Juice Bar...what more do you need??

It looks like a raccoon climbed onto our table in the night to admire our pretty flowers :)

Melissa and I delivered flowers to the Ann Arbor City Club. What an elegant location for a reception. I have to say the photos on the AACC website really do not do it justice so if you are looking for a nice place don't rule this out without visiting first.

I wish I had taken better photos of the Gardens and Arbor which were the most impressive part in this florists opinion

Bride's Bouquet was composed of Peonies, Sweet Peas (of course) Dahlia, Parrot Tulips, Mini Green Leucadendron, Dendrobium Orchids, Ranunculus, Clover, and the berries from some wild thing that I found to replace the seeded eucalyptus that is out of season and looked like absolute garbage.

Yikes I think I got a picture of the Ether :) It was a blurry day in May when my precious Kodak-chrome bit the dust.... So I tried to shoot this arrangement using the camera built into my laptop, not so good. Oh well I guess even cameras go the way of all flesh.

These flowers were arranged as a donation for Molly Barker the founder of Girls on the Run. They held a fundraiser gala at Webber's Inn and wanted to have nice flowers to greet their mentor when she arrived.

Justin and I are community Gardening with "The Giving Garden" and Eastern Michigan University this year. These lovely ladies wrote a Grant and received funding to start their garden on campus. Found this gorgeous Kale and had to take it home. It is hard to believe it's mid January when I look at these pictures, so bright and warm looking. I love the just field picked look of the buplerum geens and the craspedia (yellow knobs).

This is the Place Card Table arrangement located right as you walk in the Museum of Art.

These were particularly fun to design. There is black river rock in the bottom of each square vase giving it a great foundation to work in. We featured the Ballet rose, garnet dahlia, antique hydrangea, and blue eryngium. Once we arrived at the Museum we were able to put their "belts" on, check it out!

They are held together by a couple buttons and embroidery thread.

This is our arrangement designed for the appetizer table, we love the curly willow tips twisted through the inside of the large vase.

It featured the ballet roses, garnet dahlia, antique hydrangea, eryngium, kale blooms and italian ruscus.

The Art Museum at the University of Michigan is absolutely pristine. It was a great opportunity to design for such a large open space already filled with gorgeous works of art.

On January 13th The University of Michigan Museum of Art (UMMA) hosts Carole Ann Duffy, Poet Laureate of Great Britain for their Zell Visiting Writer Series. We had the opportunity to create a unique design with the flowers for this event. Taking influence from the event invitation and poster, we were able to recreate the look and feel of complex textures, industrial supply and distinguished softness.

A Sink Full at the Michigan League

The Michigan League and Union are full of stunning , Gothic and oh so romantic rooms for rent and each one has its own catering closet. I just loved putting these flowers together on-site.

and I close the door to keep in all the good smells.

The Pendleton Room inside the U of M Union seats 120 at tables and rents for $315 for 5 hours or $472 on Saturdays. This is one of my favorites because it is cozy with a fire place.

The Feast of the Holy Family

Bridgit and Tom Cook were married in Dexter on on the Feast of the Holy Family December 30th 2005.

The night before with a car full of flowers I got in a car accident. Shaky as I was the flowers still came out right, I wish I had more photos but this is the only one I could find. The wedding was stunning and the holiday season provided such a festive setting. Bridgit has always been elegant and tastefully unique, at her wedding it was in every detail. As a side note Bridgit and Tom Cook's marriage has given rise to two of the worlds cutest kids!

Shining Star Crystal Diamond Ties the Knot

Carly and I traveled to Portland to stand up for our Anna. My wedding gift was the flowers which we purchased at a near by Whole Foods Market and arranged in Anna's crowded apartment the day before. Anna made her own dress, I am blessed with such talented and amazing friends!!

P.S. Shining Star Crystal Diamond is the nick name that Carly's adorable little sisters gave Anna when she was here. I did not get a nick name boo hoo but I was told by Maggie " Did you know the planet Venus is named for a Greek Goddess, the Goddess of Beauty....If I was the Goddess of Beauty I would make you." So there.

Anna met Darren Cools at St. Thomas Aquinas University in Ojai, CA while visiting one of her many great brothers (she has seven).

The wedding was on one of many rainy days in Portland. I suppose all that rain is the reason that the even the rocks are green there. BEAUTIFUL Can't wait to visit again.

The bouquets featured Hydrangea, Ranunculus, Stock, and these amazing pink tulips that had 5 or so layers of petals, opened all the way up to expose a cute fuzzy yellow center. They almost look like miniature poppies but they are tulips scout's honor.

We all sucked in our breath when Anna appeared at the back of the church radiant as the sun. Actually as you can see in this picture she is giving off so much light that it is hard to get a good shot of the flowers :)

I think that the soft Victorian look of these flowers fit really well with the whole event. The reception was held in an adorable old hall on the country side and the music included classical guitar, fiddle and more all played by friends and family,

Oldies but Goodies, So yes it is November and I am just getting around to posting these Pictures from Carly and Paul Bower's Wedding in April. Actually there is more to confess, Due to a raucous baccalaureate party the night before I arranged these flowers with a bit of a head ache, worth it though :)

The day of the wedding Sally helps me wrap the bouquets with ribbon, I learned at Anna's wedding not to wrap them and then stick them in water over night unless you want a drippy slimy mess on your hands (literally) Sally helped all day the day before too including ribboning the corsages which I was dreading. She is really good at this and I hope she will come play flowers with us again.

My roommate Laura and I discovered after three years living together that we wear the same size so I lent her a dress for the wedding (I wore that dress to a junior high dance in the 90s but its still hot) Here she is delivering the corsages to the groomsmen. Ypsilanti Corner Health Center Open House

BAM!! Thank you flower muse (mine is St. Therese' the little flower) This arrangement was the favorite and the first thing guests saw upon entering the Health Center. I think it was the texture of the thistle and the uniqueness of the Kale roses that made it such a hit.

These french tulips would have stood alone and been unbelievably elegant but I couldn't help myself because the color combo here is so yummy and an opportunity to show off the fiddle head fern curls. Everyone was shocked to discover that they are organic not fake.

Thank goodness for Melissa swooping in after a long day/week/month training to be a Certified Nurse Assistant. She put this arrangement together so flawlessly and gave me my second wind. Not to mention crawled around on the floor with me cleaning up escaped stems, leaves and miscellaneous garbage that had been whimsically cast down.

10 corsages made to complement the arrangements. All the colors for this project were drawn from the mural outside the clinic and the new Donor Board. Gem tones happen to be my favorite.

This was a big Day! Zingerman's Catering pitched our design services to one of their clients.........Chrysler!! We Dreamed up these three for their product release tent gala. They are supposed to be saying "What a lovely fall day" without being Kitschy, you know with gourds, hay and fake cob webs.

Botanical Gardens Wedding Reception

Wedding reception at the Ann Arbor Botanical Gardens What an inspiring venue we actually spent one day a week or so here last winter just basking in the sunny humidity of their indoor tropical garden. There is a nice table on the mezzanine with a cafe umbrella which you need to prevent sun burn even mid winter. You can even buy a cup of really good coffee here.

The Matthaei Botanical Gardens in Ann Arbor has 5 gardens available to rent for weddings of 150 people or less they range from $950-$1100 and the sweet white chairs are provided. a florists dream wedding (this florist at least)

It is truely wonderful to see the Ann Arbor Farmers Market in full bloom. I hopped over to market this morning and picked up this bunch of beautiful Dahlias to brighten up the office. It is simply spectacular to see what beauty can grow from Michigan soil.!

Diane and Joel's Wedding was one of our first big events this season. Melissa was not only the florist but actually wrote and conducted the wedding ceremony. In this picture you see the book she read from as she officiated the wedding. Bride's Bouquet is composed of Dahlia, Roses, Cymbidium Orhchids and ruscus.

The wedding was celebrated at Lyon Oaks Country Club and the Ceremony took place outside on the patio right in front of these Hydrangea bushes in full bloom. Diane was stunning!!

We asked the photographer to snap some pictures for our portfolio and he did! This is a close up of the maids bouquets.

We made 7 each of 3 different centerpieces, these were my favorite

Ranunculus, Dahlia, Atilbe, and Hanging Amaranthus among other things.

The star shaped flowers in these are "blushing bride"

This was the third type of arrangement composed of Large White Calla, Bells of Ireland, Curly Willow Tips and White Denrobium Orchids in a Cylinder Vase.

Sweet Pea Floral Design of Ann Arbor was inspired by a desperate need to play with flowers. Melissa and I missed the feeling of being surrounded by buckets of blooms and bunches in boxes. We both spent years working in the floral industry before settling down to big girl desk jobs which provide a lovely 9-5 schedule but lack the outlet for creativity that we once loved.

Now we are sprouting our own grass roots design firm, looking forward to all of the big events we will be a part of, and taking road trips just so that we can day dream about fern curls and Poppy pods.
